The Person Behind the Practice
Hi, I’m Lisa.
I’m a change and capability consultant with more than 25 years’ experience helping people learn, grow and adapt.
I work with organisations, small businesses and individuals to turn change from something that happens to people into something they understand, contribute to and ultimately own.
Having the right strategy or process is only part of the equation. For change to actually stick, you need to understand what it looks like from the perspective of the people experiencing it.
That’s where I start.
What I believe about change
There are plenty of frameworks for managing change. They give us processes, stages and steps — and they’re useful.
But there’s something I believe sits underneath all of them: empathy. That’s the underpinning philosophy to my practice.
If you want people to come with you, you need to understand where they’re starting from.
What does this change mean for them? What are they worried about? What might get in the way? What do they need to understand, learn or feel confident doing differently?
For me, successful change isn’t compliance.
Compliance is “I’m doing this because I have to.”
Real, lasting change happens when people understand the why, have the capability to do what’s being asked of them, and feel enough ownership to say:
“I’m doing this because I want to.”
That’s the kind of change I’m interested in creating.

What makes me different?
Strategic
I start by understanding where you are, where you’re trying to go and what needs to shift to get there.
That means looking beyond the immediate request to understand the bigger picture — your people, your culture, your capability and what success actually looks like.
Creative
Change rarely comes with a one-size-fits-all solution.
I bring together change management, learning design, facilitation and creative problem-solving to develop practical solutions that make sense for your organisation and your people.
Sometimes that’s a workshop. Sometimes it’s a capability framework, a digital learning experience, a communication strategy or a completely different way of approaching the problem.
The solution should fit the problem — not the other way around.
Human
This is probably the most important one.
I believe empathy is fundamental to creating meaningful change.
People bring different experiences, motivations, concerns and capabilities to the table. Understanding those perspectives isn’t a soft extra — it’s how you identify what might prevent change from succeeding.
I don’t believe in standing out front and expecting everyone to follow.
Good leadership means standing beside people or behind them.
Ultimately, it means creating the conditions for people to move forward without you because they believe in the cause, the vision and the mission.
Where that perspective comes from
I’ve spent more than 25 years working in learning, leadership and education.
That experience taught me something that now sits at the heart of my consulting practice: people don’t change simply because we tell them to.
They change when something makes sense to them.
When they feel heard.
When they have the knowledge and capability they need.
When they’re given the opportunity to contribute and…
When they feel confident enough to take ownership.
My background gives me a deep understanding of how people learn and develop, but my work today goes beyond learning design.
I help organisations understand the people side of change and then design the strategies, experiences, tools and capability needed to make that change last.
Change that lasts
Good change isn’t something you do to people.
It’s something you build with them.
If you’re trying to create change in your organisation — whether that means shifting culture, building capability, developing leaders or helping people work differently — I’d love to hear what you’re trying to achieve.
